Method:
Eggs should be room temperature for best results
-
Crack eggs open on a flat surface. This prevents egg shells from fragmenting into the egg
-
Crack into a separate bowl just in case yolk breaks. It's also easier to lay egg into the pan for cooking also helps in avoiding breaking the yolk
-
Heat skillet to medium heat
-
Add butter about 1/4 inch, adjust heat to where it sizzles or a bit of bubbling occurs
-
Lay the egg into the pan
-
Season with salt and pepper
-
The egg will turn white as it cooks
-
When just a bit uncooked (clear) egg remains near the yolk it's decision time
-
Sunny Side Up Cook for 30 more seconds or until egg is all white no clear remains. Slide onto a plate
-
Over Easy Flip egg over with a spatula or flip in pan "push forward, pull back" Cook for 10 seconds then slide onto a plate
-
Over Medium Cook for 30 seconds once flipped, then slide onto a plate
-
Over Well Cook for 1 minute once flipped, then slide onto a plate
